I understand the potential benefits of increased visibility and traffic. However, if AI search is becoming the dominant force in search, how come many of the major media and publishing houses are blocking it?
There must be concerns around copyright and the content showing up in AI search without the user needing to visit the original website source.
I think it's exactly the last point you made. They're afraid of losing traffic, but on the other hand, they'll end up creating a lack of trust and relevance. That's also one of the reasons why we're already seeing many people turn to newsletters and blogs as their primary sources of information rather than relying on major media outlets.
